EFF MP and national spokesperson Sinawo Thambo has also expressed his views on the heated discussion about Indians, saying that materially, they have strong anti-black sentiments.
He suggested that the indigenous people of South African keep avoiding the need to have “an honest conversation about the tension we have with Indians”.
During the week, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane said her ongoing legal battles have consistently involved key figures of Indian descent, who have positioned themselves as her persecutors.

Mkhwebane’s comments were met with criticism by the African National Congress (ANC) and the Office of the Chief Justice.
However, Thambo argued that “the most avoided reality in [South Africa] is the distaste that the Indian population has against Africans, and this is a product of Apartheid”.
“Go to KZN and hear our Africans relate their existence with their Indian counterparts. Look at Pravin Gordhan, Momoniat, Judge Zak Yacoob etc,” the EFF MP added.
Thambo further indicated that the existing tensions between South African natives and Indians is not new. He recollected how former ANC President Oliver Reginald Tambo once raised similar concerns about an Indian Cabal in the 80’s.
“There is a pattern, why do we avoid it?” the EFF spokesperson asked.
