eNews Channel Africa (eNCA) has taken an abrupt decision to not air a 2-hour long interview by broadcaster Onkgopotse JJ Tabane with former state president and leader of uMkhonto weSizwe (MK party) Jacob Zuma.
The controversial news broadcasting station said in a statement on Monday that all current affairs programmes have been canceled this week.
“The interview cannot be broadcast tonight as it is close to the elections. For this reason, all current affairs programmes, including Power To Truth, have been cancelled this week,” eNCA said.

On Friday, Mr Tabane went to Nkandla to conduct the interview with Zuma. The following day, he posted on Facebook that the interview will be broadcast on Monday 27 May 2024.
“It’s 2am in Nkandla and we just finished a 2 hour marathon interview with Former President Zuma. Coming to you on Monday at 8pm on Power to Truth on Dstv channel 403,” his post read.
eNCA said it will be complying with its obligations that prohibit the news station from broadcasting political interviews less than 48 hours before an election, adding that “no interviews with anyone representing a political party will be broadcast until after the election.”
