The outspoken podcaster, writer and public speaker Penuel Lungelo Mlotshwa believes that racially motivated cases of farm murders in South Africa will not end anytime soon.
Penuel made the remarks following another appearance in the Mankweng Magistrates Court by a Limpopo farmer, Zachariah Johannes Olivier, and his two employees, Adriaan De Wet and William Musora, who are charged with the murder of two women and dumping their bodies in a pigsty.
“These are Farm Murders. Sadly… it’s only when the victims are white that many right-wing organizations and individuals go crazy.
“And yes, that includes Afriforum, that I support at times. Sad that they are quiet about this. Racism [in South Africa] is not gonna end anytime soon,” Penuel said on X.
The bail application of the three men accused did not go ahead on Friday. Advocate Jakobus Venter, who represented Olivier, told the court that he was only able to consult with his client for the first time on Friday morning.
“We are not ready to proceed. Seeing that it requires a formal bail application and as indicated now by my learned colleague it is an opposed application, I would like a proper opportunity firstly to further consult with my client and secondly just to have a proper opportunity to prepare and fill up the bail affidavit that I’ve already prepared for today.”
De Wet and Musora’s attorneys also made similar submissions and the case has now again been postponed, to 10 September 2024.
