Responding to the remarks by Sibongile Besani about the African Congress for Transformation (ACT) and its leader Ace Magashule, on Sunday, the party has urged the Presidency to prioritise his mental well-being “before it becomes a critical situation.”
When asked about his opinion on the purported “omission of ACT from the ballot paper,” Besani neglected to rectify the error made by the journalist, who appeared to lack professionalism when posing the question.
The ANC’s head of the presidency said he was not surprised that ACT would not on the ballot papers, labelling Magashule as incompetent “for failing to register the political party.”
Setting the record straight, ACT stated that it was unfazed by a fraudulent individual who has serious psychological problems.
“Either he lacks information or he is intentionally attempting to undermine ACT’s campaign, as he is aware that the ANC will not be the ruling party in the Free State province after May 29,” the party said in a statement.

“Besani, with unwavering confidence in showcasing his ignorance, put Fikile Mbalula to shame by running his mouth about how ACT did not successfully register for the elections. Despite a live TV broadcast event organised by the IEC, during which several party leaders, including Dr. Ace Magashule, the President-General of ACT, publicly vowed and pledged to comply with and adhere to the norms and principles of the elections,” the statement read.
ACT reiterated that regardless of the apparent efforts made by Besani as well as other reactionary media outlets, to de-campaign the party, “their attempts will be unsuccessful.”
