The granddaughter of the IFP leader Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, singer Toya Delazy has expressed her approval and admiration for Prince Simakade, through her twitter account on Sunday.
In her tweet she said: “We have a new Zulu King [with a crying emoji]. Mana Smakade samakhosi [hands lifted high emoji]. Mana Mageba. You were both born of the most beautiful soul I have ever met – uDlokobane – siyanithanda bantwana. Kumele ngilimele iqiniso – ngivuswe at 3:33 becula.”
Delazy, real name Latoya Nontokozo Buthelezi, made these remarks after Prince Simakade was on Saturday traditionally crowned as King of the Zulu nation. This is despite other members of the royal house and government officially recognizing his brother, King Misuzulu as leader of the nation.
Some of the musician’s followers replied to the tweet by warning Delazy that her grandfather won’t be happy with her words and she replied by saying, “I’m not responsible for anything here – according to the culture of the Zulus, walking through the kraal makes the king – as a subject of the Zulu nation my duty is to respect that decision unless somethings changed?”
One of our sources who is close to her family revealed to Vulankungu that Delazy is already not on good speaking terms with her grandfather, and the family fears that her remarks could make their relationship worse.
Prince Buthelezi has, on many occasions, come out in public to support the Kingship of Misuzulu who also enjoys full backing from the likes of Patrice Motsepe, Kgalema Motlanthe, and Cyril Ramaphosa.
I have done nothing just pay respect – we not involved at all in that process if you wanna fight someone go enyokeni yuyosho okhala ngakho mina that is all i know – I was gonna respect any of theor choices – it's not our decision to make . Please https://t.co/H7KHyxxcZJ
