UN Secretary-General António Guterres has called for accountability following a terrorist attack in Mali which he labeled as despicable.
Scores of people were reportedly killed in the capital, Bamako, on Tuesday when Islamic militants attacked several locations, including a military police academy, according to various media reports.
The militant group JNIM, which is allegedly linked to Al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for orchestrating the violence that forced the authorities to temporarily close the country’s international airport.

More than 20 UN agencies are currently located in Mali, supporting the authorities in achieving development goals, the UN stated.
