Bongani Baloyi on Friday announced that Xiluva has met all of South Africa’s Electoral Commission (IEC) requirements to be on the ballot paper for the upcoming general elections on 29 May 2024.
He made the announcement during a visit to the IEC offices in Centurion, Tshwane.
“The party has placed a strong emphasis on selecting young South Africans who have demonstrated dedication and perseverance in overcoming our financial constraints as a self-funded party, to work the ground and gather the required signatures for eligibility in the Gauteng Province and National ballots,” said Baloyi.
Political parties and independent candidates wishing to take part in the 2024 National and Provincial Elections were given until Friday to submit their candidate lists and pay a deposit by 5pm.

Baloyi added that their efforts underscore the importance of youth involvement in the country’s political process and to ensure diverse representation and inclusive governance.
“Converting signatures of support into actual votes is indeed crucial for the party’s success in the upcoming elections and this will be our primary focus henceforth. The ability to mobilize and unite supporters behind the party’s vision and candidates will be vital in securing a strong electoral outcome,” he stressed.
According to the IEC rules, independent candidates are required to submit 1 000 signatures to qualify for elections. New parties need between 10 000 – 13 000 to take part in the national elections and between 4 000 – 8 000 in provincial elections.
The leader of Xiluva said he is motivated by South African citizens they have engaged with throughout the process, and committed to addressing key issues and delivering on his party’s promises.
